TESTIMONIAL
I first got the opportunity to ride a BOS in 2019. My coach at the time Steve Ferguson gave me a spin on his and I immediately fell in with the ski. Later that week I reached out to Reece to purchase a ski and get it to New Zealand for me. As soon as I trained and raced in it, I knew this would be the ski I paddle for the rest of my surf sport career. The way it works through the surf, charging through waves, glides on runners, and the overall feel of paddling was something I had been searching for for a long time. The ski itself took my confidence and ski paddling to a whole different level. On top of the skis top quality, Reece and the BOS team would constantly reach out and ask how I was tracking with results and how the ski was going. I was only 17 at the time living in a different country and with no major results but having that support and interest from Reece as a grom meant the world to me (and still does). BOS value each person that rides their craft, and use the athlete feedback to keep pushing the surf ski tech and continue to break boundaries in the industry.

I’d like to think I’m alright at golf. I can surf, solve a rubiks cube and can cook a pretty good chicken and rice.

I grew up in Auckland NZ, where surf sports wasn’t the most popular sport to do. From when I was a kid I would travel to the Coromandel for the summers, where I started nippers at Whangamata from age 5. I got into surf sports at 10 years old through my older cousin who showed me the ropes and acted as a role model for me in the sport. From about 15, surf sports was my full focus after winning a national junior board and a second in the iron.. Me and my younger brother would push each other and train together in winter, then stay in the coromandel for as long as we could in summers, training and surfing and going on road trips. I love the ocean and everything it has given me. From great memories, races, surf sessions, and recently coaching the Whangamata junior squad in 2021 and 2022.
I had a successful 2021-22 surf season in NZ and decided to move to Gold Coast under Northcliffe to try and better myself as an athlete and as a person. I moved in 2022 and have loved it ever since. I still am doing university online and am in my fourth and final year of my degree. All the blokes in the Northcliffe squad and the coach Kev Morrison have been a huge part in my improvement in the last two years.
A couple of sporting goals I have for the future would be to win a NZ Iron, make an individual Aussies iron final, and to win a board rescue with my younger brother. After surf, I would love to become a property developer.
